Jason grew up in the small town of Strasburg, Virginia. He received his B.F.A in Filmmaking and Media Production from the Art Institute of Washington D.C., where he was also awarded the medal of academic achievement in his field of study. While in college he produced and was Cinematographer on a “no-budget” indie comedy horror feature, “Cowboy Killer.” The film was one of the first films to stream on Netflix.
After graduation Jason moved to Los Angeles where he produced another Independent feature, "Guys and Girls Can’t be Friends”. Set in a sleepy southern town, the film tells the story of first love and loss. It is currently distributed on various streaming platforms including iTunes, Amazon, and Redbox. Jason made the decision to move back to his hometown with the hopes of starting his own videography/photography business. Since returning to Virginia in 2016, Jason has been on the Staufferstadt Arts Board of Directors filling the position of Documentarian. Jason's Photography work has been published domestically and internationally in outlets including, Billboard, DIY magazine, Chicago Tribune, and the Guardian. He is also a Getty Images contributor.
